Los Angeles Blackjack
Our California Blackjack tables here at Hollywood Park Casino are nearly always full of enthusiastic players. Fun and easy to learn, California Blackjack is one of the most popular of all our games. Aside from a few differences in terminology and methodology, anyone who knows how to play Vegas Blackjack can be up to speed with the LA version in a matter of minutes.
The general arc of California Blackjack is just like Vegas Blackjack. Players are dealt to cards at the start of play. Players can request "hits." The goal is to still get 21. However, unlike the other version, players aren't "out" if they go over 21. Or, to put it another way, they don't go "bust." Players can still play even when they're over 21, but they can't win--they can only tie if the dealer too goes over 21. This is why California and Los Angeles Blackjack is often called "No Bust" Blackjack.
The Joker has many attributes in California Blackjack. Blackjack is played with six decks of cards, so six Jokers are in play. Joker/Joker hands pay 2 to 1. Jokers have same rank as an Ace--meaning it can be played either high (11) or low (1).
There are other key differences, but most of these are more easily understood in play rather than in reading. Why not try your luck with this exciting game today? To find out more about Hollywood Park Casino and Los Angeles Blackjack, call (310) 330-2800. |
